GUEST ARTIST:  Sandy Schipper

I love all aspects of quilting, beginning with choosing the design to shopping for fabrics, sewing and seeing the design come to life.  While hand applique is my favorite, I find great enjoyment in trying many different techniques.  From machine applique to paper piecing to thread painting to curved piecing, I enjoy continuing to challenge myself with something new.

The love of quilting became a primary interest for me in the 1990’s while making baby quilts for family and friends, and my interest has grown steadily over the years.  My biggest thrill was the exhibiting of my “Birds of the Tropics” quilt at the Pacific International Quilt Festival in 2012.
